FAQs
Who can attend?
PSN MUN is open to students in grades 9 to 12 from any school.
Do I need Model UN experience?
No. First-time delegates are invited to a training session before the conference, and the Committees page has the rules of procedure and a step-by-step guide to preparing.
How are countries allocated?
You rank three committees when you register. The Secretariat allocates committees and countries and emails every delegate on 15 January.
Can a school register a group?
Yes. Each delegate fills in their own form, chooses school registration and names the same faculty adviser, who is the Secretariat's contact for the delegation.
What should delegates wear?
Formal business attire on both days. The delegate handbook has the full dress code.
Is lunch provided?
Breakfast on the first morning and lunch on both days are included in the delegate fee.
Are there awards?
Chairs recognise Best Delegate, High Commendation and Special Mention in every committee, judged on diplomacy as much as on debate. The Committees page explains how awards are judged.
What is the refund policy?
If you withdraw before country allocations are sent on 15 January, your fee is refunded minus a processing charge. Between 15 January and 29 January, half the fee is refunded. From 29 January, one week before the conference, no refunds are given, because committee places and materials are already prepared. If the conference is cancelled by the Secretariat, every delegate is refunded in full. To withdraw, email the Secretariat from the address you registered with.
What if I can no longer attend?
Email the Secretariat as early as you can. A delegate who cannot attend can usually hand their place to another student from the same school at no extra cost. Otherwise the refund policy applies.
